To answer the question that Lumbergh is asking for once in two long years I can say...almost.
Yep, yesterday I had an interview in which I was referred to as both "ideally" and 'over" qualified for a position I had applied for three weeks ago. With that assessment I shook hands with the young man I interviewed with and departed the facility with high hopes that he would call me before 1700 hours with the final decision as it was not his to make. So confidence was high with me, if only for a few hours.
Well, 1700 gave way to 1701, then 1705, and my nearly ancient Blackberry remained silent, neither uttering the custom ringtone I had assigned to the phone numbers of the establishment where I had applied nor did it vibrate. Undaunted I had the evening meal with the assumption that I would hear something in the following day. It's 0140 in that following right now, if anyone cares.
Now I consider myself to be a man of clear thought in most situations, something I was told would benefit me in the job I am both "ideally" and "over" qualified for, b ut that clarity of thought tends to engage both the hindsight functions in my brain and the cynic that the untimely dismissal from my last employer has implanted there. That is to say I started thinking about what could possibly delay the approval of my application the work for this company.
Yes, I can be that deep in my thoughts and with that somewhat conspiratorial when it comes to what things might mean, so it's those thoughts that have me awake at the witching hours, dear reader.
I know it's a horrible attitude to have on the cusp of the end of the worst unemployment period of my life, but with the vagaries that were communicated to me about the job yesterday I just can't stop thinking about it. Once again, I blame the situation that was so unceremoniously ended two years ago April, when the insidious monster that ran the place that I worked...concerned only with making money instead of trying to make a usable individual out of one that was damaged by his own life.

I had to walk past the place today to get to the site of my interview. Jokingly, I told my friends that in the two years I have been removed from the place I can look on it without having wild fantasies about it exploding like a building in Gaza being hit by an Israeli airstrike, so that was progress, but at the end of the day I am still bitter. I have got to get this bitterness out of my system if I am ever going to get past this rough patch in my life. Hopefully I can get back to where I was and move on.
So we'll see how it all shakes out.
