It's finally happened, my friends.
After 2077 days... or 296 weeks & 5 days... or 5 years, 8 months & 7 days, yours truly will be once again part of working, employed America.
I was officially hired by a company to supervise drug court probationers at a private healthcare company.
It goes without saying that I am ecstatic beyond words.
That time period has been THE LONGEST time I've been without a job since I entered the workforce in 1989 at a sheet metal fabrication shop.
So much time has gone by since I was on the clock earning a paycheck. Oh sure, in 2015 I was briefly employed by a friend for 13 days, but it really doesn't count.
This one I plan to keep. I dare say retire from, though I don't want to put any carts before any horses. It's a new challenge in a similar career path, not one I have to reinvent myself in too much, and well worth the time.
Upon the new year, it's on!
