As the father of a special needs child I am eliminating the word "retard" from my vocabulary. To me it would be in the same league as a racial epithet.
Tonight I read it on social media used to describe people who voted for the Republican frontrunner tonight in yet another "Super Tuesday" primary.
It's bad enough that people exist who have aversion to race in the 21st Century, or to people who are oriented in a different way in terms of their sexual/gender preferences but to impugn a person for sonething that was truly something that they could not control upon their birth is vile and beneath intelligent human beings.
Sad part about it is my son, and the countless others afflicted with developmental disorders are light years ahead of this individual in terms of intelligence and he says "he went to Harvard".
Of course, the Facebook manner of dealing with someone like this would be to label him a troll and just ignore him but...seeing that the Zuckerberg crowd is fickle one and not real good at doing the decent thing this clown is allowed to spew his hate, undeterred.
