As many times as I have been unemployed since the turn of the century you'd think I'd be used to the grind by now. The last time I spent a year off work, roughly before settling on the hell that was the Avalon Correctional Services. So slow going is no stranger to this guy.
That said, as I've grown older I feel a certain urgency to get things going again. It's hard not to consider thees days a sort of :summer vacation", but it's not. I need to get things going work-wise so I can get a school schedule ironed out. Add to this the appeal, however futile it might be, of my denial of my unemployment claim.
Needless to say, I've got a lot on my plate for someone who should have been pounding the pavement.
My most solid of all of my job leads has been one with a former employer (sort of) Tulsa County. The job I applied for is in my former field and it is pretty much what I was doing at Avalon. I am hoping that since the job involves working for someone I worked for at TCSO, that I will somehow have a lifeline to that job that the normal person won't.
We'll have to see. Until then, the grind continues.
