You've crossed the finish line, won the race but lost your mind...was it worth it after all?

The end of 2011.
So it's over...well about an hour and change and it'll be completely over.
I sit here with a delicious beer on the table next to me and with a Big Bang Theroy on the uber TV. Sean is in bed (lightweight...I started staying up until midnight when I was his age), With 2011 sliding into home, as it were, I once again put fingers to keyboard to put my take on how the year went for me. For that I must reach back to my years of being a proto-science fiction geek.
"Mostly Harmless".
If you go back to this time last year you would have got the impression that I hated 2010.
Make no mistake, I did.
2011 was a year of survival more or less. It's a different sort of survival than I expewrienced 4 years ago (almost) with the illness and amputation. It was more of a survival of intelligence. That is to say that of everything I went through this year, good and bad, I am glad that my brain survived it all.
Mother nature threw a blizzard, tornadoes and even an earthquake at me and I am glad that my mind remains active.
Unfortunately, that's all I got. Happy New Year, faithfu; readers. All three of you, if that.
